In addition to mobile window tinting, we also tint at our home shop in Litchfield Park. You can drop the car off and pick it up later, or wait with it. Our air conditioned waiting room has WiFi, a television, complimentary water and snacks, a live video feed so you can watch the work being done, and a restroom. Legally, the full windshield cannot be tinted in Arizona. There are still options. It is legal to apply a 6 inch visor strip across the top of the windshield. We can also install a clear IR heat-blocking film across the whole windshield; it usually goes undetected by law enforcement, but it is still technically illegal, and we want you to know that before you choose it.

If you have a medical reason for darker film, you can obtain a medical exemption from the MVD, which exempts you from the Arizona tint law and lets you tint your windows to your liking without the risk of a ticket. The MVD has its own restrictions on exemptions, so research them and contact the MVD before consulting your physician.

Full windshield tinting is done case by case. Because it is a difficult install, it may not be available as a mobile service. Contact us and we will tell you what is possible for your vehicle.

Yes, although a closed car parked in the sun still traps heat, so it will be warm when you open the door. The big difference comes when the air conditioning starts: the cabin cools down much faster and stays cooler with far less effort. You will also notice that the sunlight on your skin through the glass is much more bearable than it was without tint.

Most passenger vehicles, yes. Film application is difficult work, so we are selective with some vehicles. The factors are usually environmental, time, or a job that genuinely needs a second set of hands. We always aim for the best possible tint job, and if we feel the odds are stacked against us we will pass on the job rather than deliver something we are not proud of.

Older cars, and a few new ones, have proven too difficult for a single installer in a mobile setting. If we pass on your vehicle, please do not take offense. We just want the best for your car and we know our limits. Vehicles from 2002 and earlier are quoted by hand rather than by the instant tool for the same reason.

The black dots, or matrix pattern, along with the lines at the top of some windows, are a Teflon-like material applied at the factory. They are purely cosmetic and hide trim lines and edges on different vehicle designs. Because window film is designed to adhere directly to glass, the thickness of these areas makes application challenging: the film sticks to the dots rather than the glass behind them.

Depending on how thick the dotted area is, this can leave a slightly different or uneven (whitish) look right at the matrix. That is simply how film cures around a dot matrix and it is unavoidable.

This confuses a lot of people. "Factory tinted glass" is glass that was darkened by the glass manufacturer. There is no film on it; think of sunglasses, it is just darkened glass. Aftermarket tint can be applied over factory tinted glass without removing anything, because factory tint cannot be removed. Most SUVs and trucks come with factory tinted glass on the rear windows only. You will never find it on the front two windows. You can tell the two apart by checking for a film edge at the top of the glass.

Aftermarket tint has been applied by a film installer. Sedans and coupes (Accord, Malibu, Camry and so on) never come with factory tinted glass, so if those windows look dark, film has been applied. In most cases, if you want them darker, the existing film has to come off first.

Aftermarket window film is what actually protects you from heat and UV. If your truck or SUV has factory tinted glass, it is not giving you the benefits a real window film does. We recommend tinting the entire vehicle, even in a light shade, so the whole car is protected.

Contamination means airborne dust and dirt particles. We apply film with as little of it as possible, but there is always a chance of a speck or two collecting under the film as it goes onto the glass. Thanks to thorough cleaning and careful application we keep it to a minimum, and it is usually unnoticeable unless someone points it out. Some chance of contamination is unavoidable outside a vacuum, and nobody should be working in one of those.

Yes, temporarily. A thin layer of water stays trapped under the film until it evaporates. While the film dries it can also show a ripple or fish-scale look. This is normal and it dries out. In sunny, warm weather the film should be dry and clear within about a week.

• Front side windows: must allow at least 33% of light in.
• Back side windows and rear window: any darkness.
• Windshield: non-reflective tint is allowed along the top, above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.

The percentage is how much light passes through the film into the car. A 5% film lets 5% of the light through, which is very dark. A 35% film lets 35% through. Lower number, darker window.
